Just do SOMETHING!

Have you ever had a decision to make and felt like there were just too many ways the outcome could go, so instead of deciding to do SOMETHING you do NOTHING?? I can think of a many situations in my life where this has happened. I say that I’ve been praying about it and have been waiting on the Lord, but really, other than waiting, I’ve done nothing to move forward on a decision to take a step in one direction or another.
My husband and I have been “trying” to have a second child for almost 10 years now. It only took us 3 months to get pregnant with my son, so you can imagine how discouraging it has been month after month to not be pregnant again. Over the past 10 years we’ve had many, many conversations regarding another child in our lives and the lack of another child in our family. We have been to a doctor to determine that it isn’t impossible for us to have another child; we just have less of a chance. With this information we have done very little other than know that it is in God’s hands. We’ve talked about artificial insemination, but we’ve never really brought that conversation past the initial discussion. We’ve talked about adopting and even attended a couple of orientations, but that is as far as that has gone as well. We have even discussed the fact that it could be God’s will for us to only have one child. So we’ve continued to pray about it….off and on and from time to time the topic of adoption comes back up, but truthfully we haven’t done anything for 9 years. We’ve rested on the word’s that if it is God’s will then it will happen.
I signed on with Scentsy at the beginning of December 2011 with the intention of starting up a new business that I thought would get me out with other women and help me earn some fun money for our family.  I love the product and have been in direct sales before, so I thought this was a great opportunity to get me out doing something I love again.  I had no idea when I signed on that by the end of the month our family would take the steps to make a decision to begin the adoption journey to add a precious child to our family.  We’ve come to the realization (very slowly) that though it is in God’s hands, He expects us to take a leap of faith every now and then and make a decision trusting that He is in control. So after much praying and talking as a family, we are finally ready to actually DO something and we are using Scentsy to help us!  So what I intended for “fun” money when I signed on to Scentsy will actually turn out to be “forever” money used to help give a child a “forever family” and our family a lifetime of memories.
