We have continued to see progress this week. Tarah had her medical appointment on Monday. This is a step in the immigration process to perdorm multiple tests to make sure she is ok to enter the US. These tests typically take at least 48 hours, but frequently longer to get read. The embassy will not print the visa until her medicals are cleared. We found out this morning that her medical reports shoukd be picked up Friday morning and taken to the Embassy.
Yesterday we received an email in the morning from the Embassy letting us know that they had completed Tarah's visa interview and now all they need is the medicals. They indicated that as soon as they receive those they will look to print the visa "in short order". So we are HOPING and PRAYING that they will print the visa on Friday.
We are unable to book travel until the visa is printed, so we are very anxious to get that visa notification. At this point if the visa is printed Friday we will book travel to leave for Haiti Sunday. We would get there in the afternoon, but we would not pick Tarah up until Monday. Prior to picking her up we need to stop at the embassy to get paperwork and then we can head to the orphanage to get our Sweetpea!!
The delay is painful, but at the same time there is a little relief that we have a few more days to prepare. It also means that we will get to attend a graduation party for a young man that we have watched grow up and has been a dear friend of Eli's over the years. We will get lots of lovin' from friends and family before we leave!! Cannot ask for more than that!! ❤
We're getting there...really we are!! I told my mom that it is kind of like my water broke, but this labor is not progressing as quickly as I'd like! 😂 I am ready to puuuuush that button to order plane tickets!!! We will keep you updated Friday! 😉
