Finally Feeling Real...
The past few weeks have been so exciting for us!! It has been so nice to be getting news out of Haiti that our dossier is on the move!! I joked with the other adoptive parents about wishing there was a way to get play by play at each step. Those of us going through this process are so spoiled by technology. I am thankful that we are able to get notifications so quickly on Facebook and via email. Even though it makes me a crazy Facebook stalker to see if there have been emails posted, I cannot imagine going through this process without the ability to connect. Not only can we easily connect with our Family Coordinator, but we can also connected with others in the same spot as us; people that have been in the same spot as us and those who are literally walking beside us while we are in this spot. We are so blessed!!
The activity over the past few weeks has started to make it feel like this adoption is a reality. There is actual movement and planning to be done for travel and meeting our little girl. We've had to start to have the conversation about daycare that we hope to need at some point in time next year. Planning for what we need to have in place for leave at work when the time comes. Planning for car seats and high chairs and diapers..and...diapers. :) Planning for all that will happen when she finally gets here.
It feels real and as crazy as it feels that we will be starting over, we are so excited to do so. My heart swells with the thought of holding our little girl for the first time in what may be sooner rather than later. Praying that the new time frames will really benefit getting these little ones into their forever homes as quickly as possible without delay. Thankful for the place that God has us here and now.
