Cry for Help

Ever have those times when there are so many things to do that you actually feel paralyzed and don't get anything done? That is about where I am at. This process has gotten me to a point where I am feeling a bit weary. I know that I need to kick it in gear and actually put some of our bigger fundraiser events into action, but I can't seem to get out of my own way!

I have realized over the past couple years that I am a bit gun-shy on putting a plan in action on these bigger events. I have big ideas, but I am a bit overwhelmed to try to coordinate them myself. So I think it is time to humble myself and say....HELP!!! I know I have super organized and resourceful friends that have a strength of putting plans into action. Can I get an 'Amen'???

What have we done so far, you ask?? Great question!

Well, first we have been attending monthly family movie nights at East Auburn Baptist and setting up a table with our Apparent Project bracelets and our remaining 'Love the Least of These" t-shirts. Since we are still somewhat new at the church we are ever so grateful to have the opportunity to earn money for the adoption and meet people at the same time. The Apparent Project Bracelets have been a big hit and the ornaments are an even bigger hit!!

If you are interested in purchasing a bracelet or ornament please feel free to contact me on our Facebook page:Bringing Home Our Princess. We have a link set up on this blog where you can pay via PayPal. The cost of both the bracelets and the ornaments are $8. If shipping is required then we will need to charge $10 to offset shipping and packaging costs.

I've also been working my Scentsy business with some great hostesses!! I have had so much fun working with these ladies, helping them get free stuff while I earn money for our adoption.  I still have open dates for parties so contact me today to book a catalog, home or fundraiser party!! Look the free and half priced items one of my recent hostesses received just for opening her home to friends for a fun night of Scentsy!

Last month we had an adoption yard sale which was a big success!!  We sold a ton of items, cleared out some clutter in the house and had another opportunity to share our story and meet some great new people.  We had some very sincere well wishers stop by which was a blessing indeed!!

We are still in need of additional funds because as soon as our referral match is approved we will have a large adoption fee and travel costs for our bonding trip. As a result of the referrals taking so long to be approved by the IBESR (Haitian Child Services Dept.) it is putting a burden on the orphanages because they do not receive funds for support from adoptive parents until the approval is official.  With the recent consts that we incurred for immunizations, which insurance does not pay for, we have been unable to send additional funds to the orphanage to help with school fees.

All this is the lead up to say...I need some additional help....pretty please!?! I would love to do some type of family event to generate additional funds within the next month or so.  There are so many great ideas out there and I am struggling to figure out which one will give us the biggest bang for our fundraising efforts.  I don't want to overtax the same group of friends and families by having multiple events so I really need help determining what event has the biggest earning potential and help with pulling it together.  Orphan Sunday is November 2nd and if it could be pulled off I would love to do something that weekend.  That's less than a month away, so it may be out of the question. If you have ideas and/or can help with the planning please get in touch with me by leaving a comment here, contacting me on Facebook or calling me.  I would like to meet soon with anyone willing to help.
